"A makerspace is a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials." Here at Creech we envision it as space to embrace Project Based Learning ( PBL's), where teachers act as facilitators and students collaborate, problem solve, and think critically. It will contain low tech and high tech materials where children can build with Legos and household supplies, investigate robotics and circuits with Little Bits, BrushBots, and Squishy Circuits, as well as participate in quarterly Maker challenges. A MakerSpace is a safe place where children and adults alike are not afraid to fail, but fail forward. Please come join us as we build a space full of opportunity for our children to explore new wonders and leave equipped with skills needed for the 21st century. If you would like to join the Innovation Committee, volunteer time, resources, or ideas, please contact Lashena Washington at [email protected].
